HUMOR`S HEALING POWER

I am back to keep my promise to tell you an anecdote about kang Centung. But, before I tell you about kang Centung, let me tell you why I write anecdotes for you. One of the reasons is because humor has healing power. Please check out this article.


HUMOR`S HEALING POWER (Daya Penyembuh Humor)

It is not a joke that humor can reduce pain and help healing.
Bukan dagelan kalau humor bisa mengurangi rasa sakit dan membantu penyembuhan.
Medical research has shown that laughter can improve physical and mental health.
Penelitian medis telah membuktikan bahwa tawa dapat memperbaiki kesehatan fisik dan mental.

Lee Berk, M,D. has proven that laughter has a significant role in fighting viruses, bacteria, cancer and heart deseases.
Lee Berk telah membuktikan bahwa tawa berperan penting dalam memerangi virus, bakteri, kangker dan penyakit-penyakit jantung.
In his book Dr. Paul E. McGhee wrote that laughter lowers blood preasure and stress hormones in the blood. It also reduces pain and strengthens the immune system.
Di bukunya Dr McGhee menuliskan bahwa tawa menurunkan tekanan darah dan hormon stres dalam darah. Tawa juga mengurangi rasa sakit dan memperkuat sisitim kekebalan.
The killer cells in the blood increase in number and become active.
Sel-sel pembunuh dalam darah bertambah jumlahnya and menjadi aktif.
They seek and destroy tumor cells.
Sel-sel tersebut mencari dan membunuh sel-sel tumor.
Lisa T. Wesan stated that laughter increses oxygen supply to the brain and improves memory and cognition, relaxes muscles, realeases toxins and stess.
Lisa menyatakan bahwa tawa meningkatkan pasokan oksigen ke otak dan memperbaiki daya ingat dan daya pikir, melemaskan otot, dan menghilangkan racun dan stres.
Laugter can also provide cardiovascular benefits.
Tawa juga memberikan manfaat untuk jantung dan penyakit-penyakit jantung.
William Fry Jr., M.D., a psychiatrist from Stanford University, found that 15 minutes of laughter equals 10 minutes on a stationary bike in reaching the same heart pulse rate.
William, seoarng psikiater dari Stanford Uiversity, memukan bahwa utuk mencapai jumlah denyut jantung yang sama, tertawa 15 menit sama dengan 15 menit bersepeda ditempat.

Two Kinds of Laughter

Dua Jenis Tawa


There are two kinds of laughter: spontanious and stimulated laughters.
Ada 2 macam tawa: tawa spontan dan tawa dipancing.
We laugh spontaniously when we see, read, or hear something funny.
Kita spontan tertawa ketika kita melihat, membaca, atau mendengar sesuatu yang lucu.
What if there's nothing funy to laugh at?
Bagaimanna kalau tidak ada sesuatu yang lucu untuk ditertawakan?
Still we can laugh without any reasons. Just laugh. We stimulate ourselves to laugh.
Kita masih bisa tertawa tanpa alasan. Tertawa saja. Kita pancing diri sendiri utuk tertawa.
Fortunately either spotanious or stimulated laughter has healig power.
Untungnya baik tawa spontan maupun tawa yang dipancing punya daya penyembuh.
Both are equally effective.
Keduanya sama-sama effective.

How To Laugh

Bagaimana Cara Tertawa

To get the health benefits of laughter we do not have to laugh our head off.
Untuk mendapatkan manfaat kesehatan dari tawa kita tidak perlu tertawa terbahak-bahak.
A simple giggle or chuckle will do. Even mere anticipation of laughinng could help.
Nyekikik atau nyengir saja juga bisa. Bahkan hanya mengira akan tertawa, bisa membantu mendapatkan manfaat itu.

Dalam sebuah penelitian beberapa orang sehat ditest.
They were told that in 3 more days they would see a comedy video.
Mereka diberitahu bahwa 3 hari lagi mereka akan melihat video komedi.
These people experienced drop in stress hormones and increase in hormones that benefit the immune system.
Orang-orang ini mengalami penurunan hormon stress dan mengalami kenaikan hormon yang berguna untuk sistim kekebalan tubuh.

Remember what William James, a psychologist, once said, "We don`t laugh because we are happy, but we are happy because we laugh."
